We haven't posted anything in a while, so I wanted to give a quick update. First of all... WE GOT MARRIED. It's official, we are now Mr. and Mrs. Neiss., or Jason Neiss and Dawn Marie Alapisco-Neiss. Pictures here: We then spent the weekend at Faerieworlds 2008. Pictures here: We're now very tired.

So there have been questions and speculation about my personal religious affiliation. Am I a Christian or a Pagan? Can’t I be both or neither? My personal feelings about religion are very private, and I do not really discuss them much, to anyone. I feel that the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights gives me the right to be or not be whatever I choose. Can I not have a very personal and spiritual relationship with God without the stigma and restirctions of labels? But, for clarification purposes, I will ruminate a bit about my philosophies. |

Religion and politics. Polite people don't talk about those two subjects. Well, I've never claimed to be polite. In my last update, I noted that we are not religious, or are at best dirty immoral pagans. I should also perhaps note, before I deeply offend and alienate the portion of my family that doesn't actually know me very well, that I was raised Catholic. My grandfather, Roger Neiss Senior, was a deeply religious man, and he did his best to provide a good religious education to all his progeny. |
